Is Eng lit and Eng lan at a level fine ? Oxford

For Oxford law, I have law, Eng lit, Eng lan. Will I have more chances if it’s some other subject? Will a language subject at a level not be considered?

Why not drop Law and study a modern or classical language, or history, politics, or economics, or even a STEM subject if you are any good at those subjects. Study something that you are interested in and likely to do well in. A level Law is a bit meh - it takes a superficial approach to a deep subject. In addition, the well rounded lawyer is usually a better lawyer.
Bear in mind A-level English language isn't a course in English as a foreign language, it's a course in creative writing and some elementary applied English linguistics. Otherwise I'm sure it is fine.

Could you do the combined lit and lang a level? Maybe then you could pick a third that’s different.

I think im dropping Eng language and taking history instead. But I’ve been on the fence about law. Iheard different things about it, so I’m not so sure.

I have 2 combos in mind.

Law, Eng lit, History, Classical studies

Economics, Englit, History, Classical studies

which one would be more beneficial towards a law degree ?

I suggest that you take three A levels, not four. Taking four A levels will not enhance your prospects and could harm them by adding workload and stress.

There is plenty of time to study the law at undergraduate level or as a postgraduate (with a degree in another subject). Studying the classics would be life enhancing, and an understanding of economics is useful in law and as a citizen.

I suggest any combo of three of these four: English literature, history, economics, classical studies.

Then apply to study either law or another subject that interests you and which you can do well in. You can qualify as a lawyer with a degree in any subject.
