Hey guys, so I'm new here and kind of confused. Does anyone know the two texts that were used for the 2024 Summer English Language Paper 1 iGCSE Edexcel, as well as the two choices for transactional writing? I see some people saying stuff but I'm not sure who's referring to what, so if anyone has a clear answer please let me know.

i have a friend that did it this year in summer and im not sure about the unseen but the text i think was used was 'beyond the sky and earth' so the unseen wouldve been similar to it and for transactional writing pretty sure they asked to write either a speech on stress or a travel guide for young people! for 2025 people are speculating that the seen text in paper 1 for the anthology will be young and dyslexic because the author died this year and they usually use the texts as tribute when they pass away, don't take my word for it tho 😭 anyway hope i could be of help!!

Don't cheat on mocks!! Besides, it's very likely for mocks that you'll be set a mixed set of questions from older papers (or even made-up) to prevent this sort of thing happening. You won't do well if you don't get the paper you expect - not worth it. Anyway, it's not helping you for the real thing either...

Yeah... I'm super late but I remember then vividly (it was a diabolical test). The unseen was Crocodylus, something about an Australian hotel nature park or something and someone's experience there (barely any stuff to analyse), then it was the Bhutan text (beyond sky and earth). Transactional included 2 options, the first was to write a letter to the headmaster talking about school experience and the stress and lack of opportunities (just comparing about school in general), second was a magazine excerpt for a travel guide? (a lot of kids found transactional great, but first two horrible), so take as you will
