chances of lse

so i didnt initially apply for lse cos of low predicted grades. However acieved AAA at a levels in math chem and psychology . Would like to apply for A&F at lse and kings . ALso took part in the lse pathway to banking and finance program , and they did say that if u applied for lse ur application would flagged up in a good way , but i particiapted in 2022-2024 and im applying for the 2025 entry , so i dont know if it would still be flagged and if it was , how much it would make a difference towards . I am eligible for a contexual offer so technically have more then the grades required however at gcse i got a 7,7,7,8,9,6,6,5 with the 7 in maths and the 8 in english lang which is much lower compared to other candidates gcse results , however im hoping my achieved grades can hopefully help them overlook . what are my chances be harsh and honest

Nobody on here will be able to tell you your chances. The most important thing is that you meet the entry requirements, meaning you won’t be disadvantaged in terms of qualifications. GCSE results are typically used as an indicator of academic ability, as for most applicants, these will have been their most recent formal qualification. As you have achieved grades, they may be more willing to overlook your GCSEs (which are fine, but may be looked at in the context of your school). I believe it would still be flagged but email either admissions or the pathways coordinators to double check this.

If your personal statement is perfect then you have a chance
Heya! 2nd Yr at LSE here, studying philosophy logic & the scientific method- I say go for it! You have the grades, you've done a pathway programme at the uni which certainly will benefit your application regardless of how long ago it was- I had a lot of extenuating personal circumstances affecting me during college plus lockdown began during my second year so my case may be a little different to yours but I had to do an extra year at college and where they rejected my application during my first run through year 13, they gave me an unconditional offer in my second run through- LSE has a reputation from the outside of being quite harsh and selective with applications and it almost intimidated me into not applying, but I'm so glad I did. I can't tell you your specific chances but I definitely encourage you to apply still!

AAA is the entry requirement for BSc Accounting & Finance at LSE. So, you have a good chance and should apply. Also, LSE regards a 'stellar' UCAS Personal Statement as an ultimate distinguishing factor when deciding to make an offer. 🙂
