Is a level biology hard for a gcse grade 6 student?

in the future i would like to study paramedic science at university and become a paramedic. i’m choosing my a level choices for next year and i don’t know what’s the best subjects. i have already decided to definitely do health and social care as i do it as a gcse and im predicted a level 2 distinction but i’m not sure whether to also pick biology, applied science or psychology. i’m getting predicted 6 in all my sciences except physics i’m getting predicted a 7. but i’m not sure if biology would be too hard as i’m only getting a 6 in gcse but i really enjoy it. i feel that i wont enjoy applied science as i hate chemistry but i would like how it is mostly coursework based. psychology i’m picking just because i don’t know what else to pick for my career choice but i think it could help but i just dont really know what to do. i can pick 3 a levels btw and i also am thinking of going to college and studying health and social care level 3 (t level) as i would get to work in hospital 2 times a week but i feel that if i have a science related a level i would have a better chances of getting to a good university. please help me thank you!!

First off, health and social care is a no-brainer since you’re excelling in it and it directly aligns with paramedic science.
For your other choices:

1.

Biology: This is a strong choice because it’s fundamental to paramedic science. You enjoy it, and while you’re getting a 6 now, your passion will help you succeed at A-Level. Since you like it, you’re more likely to stay motivated and do well.

2.

Applied Science: If chemistry is a major turn-off, it might make the coursework less enjoyable, even if it’s easier than exams.

3.

Psychology: This subject can be very relevant for understanding patient behavior and mental health, both important for a paramedic. It’s also a bit different from the hardcore sciences, which could give you a nice mix in your studies.

Considering you want to keep your options open for university and have a solid science background, Biology and Health and Social Care seem like must-haves. As for your third subject, Psychology might be a good pick because it adds a different dimension to your knowledge and could be very useful in paramedic science.
Recommendation:

Health and Social Care

Biology

Psychology

This combination gives you a strong foundation in relevant fields without overloading you with subjects you might find less enjoyable. Plus, it keeps your university options wide open. Obviously at the end of the day it is UR choice so do what YOU want to do, i hope this helps! >33
