gcse resits for ucas application

I’m currently resitting gcse maths to get a grade 5 which is the requirement for my course at uni, i previously got a grade 4.

i’m still going to apply to university like normal, however my gcse maths grade will say pending on ucas

will i still get conditional offers from universities or will they immediately reject me after seeing im resitting?

i emailed one of the unis and they said they accept retakes, but how does it work do i need to show them my new grade first or can i apply before i get my new result?

You need to add both the existing GCSE Maths grade, and then also include the resit under 'Pending qualifications' alongside your A levels etc.

If the Uni makes you an offer, they will include the GCSE as an extra condition.

Most Unis are okay about GCSE resits - but you need to email or phone each one to check before you apply.

ohh okay that makes sense thank you so much. one more question - when i get my resit result in january does it get automatically sent to the universities? because hypothetically what if i don’t meet the grade again and have to resit in summer? or do the uni receive the GCSE grade either way in august alongside my a-level results?

You need to send a copy of your GCSE result to each Uni - and tell them if you are then resitting it again in the summer.
