Private candidate A level resit on UCAS

Hey, I'm a private candidate who is retaking an A level with the help of a tutor. However I am not sure how to add this onto UCAS? I'm assuming that once I have my exam center sorted, I will add that center and set the grade to pending and study to 'part time'? I have been looking online and just wanted to check, as I really don't wanna mess anything up this year.

Also will the fact that I am applying through my old college (they are giving me a reference, and sending my application off to UCAS) have any relevance here, given that I'm not actually taking my exams at my old college, but at a private center.

How do I go about UCAS in my situation?

Put your best bet of exam centre, part time attendance for the months of the exam-results then add the qualifications to that exam centre with the month of the results as the date. Those will then be available to your referee to optionally add in predicted grades.

Don't forget to ALSO list a fill education history with your achieved and completed GCSEs and A level results.

Did your college referee add your predicted grades from your private tutor?

Yeah they did in the end, i emailed my college panicking a day before the deadline since my original plan to get predicted grades via a tutor fell through last minute. So my old college just gave me the predicted grade I needed

Why did it fail? Just curious. I'm in a somewhat similar situation, my application is entirely dependant on my tutor.

My tutor assured me that they could give me a predicted grade, and was in the process of making sure it was all okay with the company they worked for, but the process was taking a while so I decided to phone the company myself and they said they can't allow my tutor to give me a predicted grade. Something about it breaching their rules and could get in trouble with UCAS. I wouldn't worry too much, there are always other ways to get where you wanna be. Just in my case it was the tutoring company getting in the way.

Yikes, that sucks. At least it worked out. Was it MyTutor by any chance?

does that mean you have to show the A-level grade you received from your college even if you're retaking it at another exam centre?

Yes, you must list all previously achieved grades as well as anything you’re retaking.

I'm glad I saw this thread just a few days before the UCAS deadline, thank you very much
