Pharmacy application

I am predicted bbc in psychology biology and chemistry respectively, are there any universities that are worth applying to that do not have a foundation year included? I have done lots of relevant work experience and extracurricular things which im not sure whether they would help. The reason i ask is that even the ones that take bbc want a b in chemistry which i am predicted a c in and will struggle to bring the predicted up to a b.

There’s a few,but your options are quite limited. Try searching for programmes in Swansea University as their grade requirements are lower than the most pharmacy schools (there are 2 courses, one with foundation year and one without),I am aware that King’s College has a contextual offer for ABC if you meet the criteria. Try searching for any other universities that have foundation year within their course😅🙏hope that helped 🤞🏻

If you will struggle to get a B in a level chemistry, are you sure the course is the right one for you?
There are a few new pharmacy schools taking students on from 2025, and new schools often have slightly lower requirements in their first year of running, and may enter clearing. But even at these schools getting onto the standard course with BBC will be unlikely.
Doing the initial foundation year really might be your best option. Or apply for pharmacology at a Uni where you can enter year 1 pharmacy subject to grades achieved in year 1 pharmacology?

I believe i have the ability to do it as a course, my main issue was that in year 12 i didn't take school anywhere near as serious as I should have. I ended up with a C predicted whilst having done no revision and missing lots of lessons. As for the pharmacology degree transfer are there any specific unis that do that commonly?

Of course if some unis do enter clearing and you can pull it out of the bag and get the B in chem you can apply through clearing as well.
I know that at Bangor you should be able to apply to pharmacy after 1 year of pharmacology but I’m not sure about other Unis. If you email the pharmacy admissions coordinator at some Unis you are interested in and enquire whether they allow it

Regarding pharmacy clearing, do you know what unis are on clearing for pharmacy regularly? I didnt see that many for 2024 entry and i heard its because most of the time the interview is a lot harder to set up last second.

As far as I'm aware there aren't any that are regularly on. Like you say last minute interviews aren't easy to set up but also the course is very popular so usually they don't need to clear. That's why your best bet is a new course as they often have some clearing spaces during their first year
