Which Uni is best for an international student, Sheffield Hallam Uni Or UWL, considering both in terms of educational facilities, student help, academic environment, living expenses and tution fee for the Agricultural/Food Science courses?

Hi @Lav007 ,

It's great to hear you are considering Sheffield Hallam! I have really enjoyed my experience here so far and have found the uni to be great and everyone is very friendly and helpful! I thought I could answer some of your questions as someone who has been studying here for two years now.

In terms of the educational facilities, there are two campuses here and there is a new building which is currently being built and should be ready for when you would start your course. As far as I am aware, the food science courses are in the city campus but this may change when you start your course so it is best to check this before you start! You may also have some classes in the new building which looks like it is going to be really nice.

For the student help, you get a lot of help here at Hallam. You should get three advisors: a student support advisor, an academic advisor and an employability advisor who you can go to for any advice and help that you might need. I have found this to be really helpful and they are always there to answer your questions when you need help and they are quick to schedule appointments when you need it.

Sheffield is also generally regarded to be quite an affordable city for students. Hallam has a good range of student accommodation which they guarantee a room in for all first year students and there are some quite cheap ones and some which are a bit more expensive but none are extremely expensive. Most also come with an en-suite too which is nice and a lot of them have nice rooms.
