Access to HE for Russell Group unis

Can I get into a Russell group with 40 distinctions, 4 merits and 1 pass in an access to HE course?

I know the entry requirements, state only merits and distinctions, but it is only one pass.

It depends which Russell Group Uni. I’ve got offers from 2 RG universities(Queen Mary and Kings College)Although I had 45 distinctions this was more than the min requirements as are your grades. I know that Queen Mary , University of London required only 25 distinctions I think. Do Look on the websites.

Hi, can ask which subject you’re doing? I know some are more competitive than others. I’m wanting to do English Literature

I think it's worth applying, although research the grade requirements beforehand.

King's College require 36 Distinction and 9 Merit, Exeter require 30 Distinction and 15 Merit (in an English subject) and Warwick require 33 Distinction and 12 Merit. All of which you exceed.
There may be other Russell Group universities that you could apply for, these are just three examples.
I am also not an English student so I am unsure if English & English Literature courses are the same - apologies if not!

Hi, I've worked in F.E and H.E for over 10 years. People can be made an offer if they are under their tariff points, up until last year, F.E tutors would write to admissions tutors at Universities to explain why a student might have slightly missed their target, there is now room for this under 'mitigating circumstances' in the UCAS application - not sure if students see this bit but it is there (I wrote one yesterday!). As I would say to all student's, have a diverse array of Universities in your 5 UCAS choices with different entry criteria as you never know what will happen in life.

I've worked with over 100 very successful professionals in healthcare and education and only 4 or 5 went to Russell Group Universities, there are a lot of options out there
