do i need an a star predicted in fm for lse

im applying for economics, im predicted a*a*a*a in maths, economics, history and fm respectively. ik how much lse cares abt fm as their course is heavily maths base. ik it'll disadvantage me not having an a star predicted but is it still worth it to apply

It won’t disadvantage you to not be predicted an A* in further maths, so long as you meet the minimum requirement of being predicted A*AA with an A in maths. Universities are aware that predictions are just that - predictions. You may exceed them come results day. If you want to study economics at LSE then I see no issue with applying. Best of luck to you
If your cohort/most competitors for the course have an A* prediction in FM then you will probably look a bit worse, but your application isn’t just your predictions. It’s only 1 of your 5 choices and ik everyone says that but what my teacher said to me when I said “is there a point in me applying to Oxford” was “is there another uni you really want to go to that Oxford is taking the place of? Any extra safety too won’t benefit you massively (this assumes you have good grades) and worst comes to worst clearing or gap year isn’t as bad as most people think”

I wonder which optional papers you're taking for A-Level Further Maths? 😧

Because Further Mechanics 1 and Further Decision 1 Maths are much easier than Further Pure 1 and Further Statistics 1. 🙂

I’m not taking further maths. I’m also not sure what relevance that has to the original post.

No. Because FM1 has less content than FS1. Also, FM1 is mostly the old M2 topics, whereas FS1 is S1, S2, S3 and S4 topics.
