Awesome! Super appropriate username lol. What made you choose Peterhouse? I kinda just liked the vibe tbh cos the people were super nice and then it just happened to be good for my course… my methods are very scientific…

Haha! icl I feel like thats a good enough reason to choose the college though.
I didn't get to see Peterhouse at the July open day but I went up to Cambridge and had a fleeting look at the outside of the buildings lol. I liked the porters, they were really nice and chill. I also liked that it's a smaller college - the fact that they have their own theatre is super endearing too! Do you know what accommodation in the college itself is like (I wasn't able to see it on the day I went)? Also, have you heard back about interviews yet?! I've heard that Selwyn, Kings and Girton have sent out their interviews but haven't heard from Peterhouse...
Anyone applying to history for peterhouse?

My lad just started there and it looks a decent choice. Hard to say Ive that much experience, but from a quick look round the bars been done up last year, theres a small gym and common room. The dining room is all hogswarty. Rooms are ok (hes in the block opposite the hotel du vin) - small shared kitchen, I think he went for the cheaper options. Tbh most colleges are a "good choice".

I didn’t view the accommodation either but I’ve seen some pics online and it looked reasonably big rooms, all single beds tho I think and you can get cute balconies if you’re lucky according to someone I talked to. Also they don’t have any/many en-suites or kitchens they just have theses gyp things with a kettle, microwave, toaster and sink in which was is kinda sad cos I had budgeting masterchef fantasies but whatever, apparently the dining hall thing is cheep as hell.
Haven’t heard about interviews yet but I think they should start coming out next week.
Also they have their own theatre?!?!? How did I miss that?!? Do you think you’ll try out a drama soc or something?

For the accommodation thats pretty much it. As long as youre happy with basic breakfast/lunch, the "kitchens" just about do and the balcony (at least in one case) is large sash windows that opens out onto the porch roof. I presume youre allowed to use it ...

This one opened normally. Not sure what that said about the last person in the room / how sturdy the porch roof is. Still, youve got to try.

Yeahhhh I heard that about the kitchens too - no ovens! Apparently the food in the dining hall isn't great either...
Yes, they have a theatre! It kind of looks like the House of Commons lol (although I must say I haven't seen it in person).
Don't think you'll be seeing me in any plays anytime soon but I'd defo want to watch any that are put on lol. How are you feeling about interview invites? I feel pretty nervous...someone in my year already has one, but I heard that Peterhouse generally send them slightly later.

Think its the latter, so the terrace opposite the hotel du vin (easy to see on google maps), so between engineering and peterhouse porters lodge

I’m kinda neutral about interviews tbh cos I’ve gotten an bangin offer from Southampton and York so I’m good for my spare choices. Obvs if I get the interview I’ll probably freak out a bit more cos they’re in person aren’t they? And I’m SUPER awkward around people I don’t know and also I read a thing saying they judge your posture???? Which mine is terrible so imma have to reinvent myself and try not to go bright red and squeaky lmao. Or northern actually… I have a problem with doing accents unknowingly 😬

I'm sure you'll be fine cos they're just looking at how good you'd be as a candidate in the context of ur subject - they won't care how ur sat etc. Good luck anyways!!
