Struggling with a-level options

Hi guys!

I'm in year 11 and I have to start applying to sixth forms soon. I'm not exactly sure what job I want to do in the future but I'm considering medicine or something related to engineering. Consequently, I'm not sure what a-levels I should pick.

My strongest subjects and the subjects that I enjoy the most are sciences. I'm also good at maths.

What a-levels would you suggest for someone hoping to study medicine or something engineering related?
Do you think physics, chemistry, biology and maths is too many a-levels? I know it depends on how much work you put in but generally would you advise against this combination of subjects?
Can I dump a subject if I don't wish to continue with it?

maths, bio, chem, physics is a completely acceptable a level combination for engineering or medicine. It would likely be intense, but if you start with the combo you can always drop a subject (especially when you decide whether you want to do medicine or engineering ). i think you should deffo take maths and chem (most linked to medicine and engineering), you could consider further maths too (very helpful for engineering but not for medicine).

Physics, chem, biology and maths is a great combination and one that's very popular as well. You can always dump a subject if it's too much pressure, but 4 A levels is certainly doable, even 4 A levels and an EPQ. If you decide early on in sixth form that you want to pursue engineering, swap out bio for further maths.
