Struggling with a-level options

I have to pick my a levels soon and I'm not sure what I should pick. I want to consider as many options and careers as possible so that I don't regret not picking a subject.

My favourite subjects are sciences and I'm particularly strong at chemistry. I'm thinking of studying medicine or even some form of engineering in the future but I'm not sure yet.

Could someone kindly share a few careers related to my interests so that I can do some further reading and research about them.
Chem, bio, maths and geography fit well, or change geo for history, classics, politics or economics

for some unis, they would like phy for engineering

Hi,

If you're particularly strong at Chemistry but looking into engineering, have you thought about going down the chemical engineering route? There are lots of careers available through this route!
Chemical engineering | UCAS
Chemical Engineering degrees | course guide - Complete University Guide

Something similar is natural sciences - within this a wide variety of modules from multiple subjects and as your favourite subjects are sciences it could be ideal!
Natural Sciences degrees | course guide - Complete University Guide

Hope this helps and gives you a few more ideas! Ella - Lancaster University Student Ambassador

Hi @VoiidDev
I recommend picking subjects to study at A level that your most interested in, as you will likely enjoy studying it more and therefore do better in these subjects. If your most interested in sciences, these can be a great pathway to a wide variety of career options.
Also, you mentioned an aspiration to study medicine or engineering, so it could be useful to select A level's relating to these aspirations. For instance, here at Lancaster to study medicine and surgery the entry requirements are AAA with two subjects of either Biology, Chemistry or Psychology being studied, more information can be found here, Entry requirements - Lancaster University. However, the required subjects and entry requirements tend to vary between universities and courses, so might be worth having a look what A level subjects these university courses require.
If you have anymore questions, feel free to ask!

Hey!

I'm currently studying medicine so I'm happy to answer any questions you may have about this!

In terms of other careers, I'd really recommend going to a university open day as this is a great way to have a look at different subjects and the careers they can lead into! This will then give you an idea about which subjects would be best to take at A-Level! For example, for medicine, most require chemistry and biology is always good to have!

I hope this helps and if you have any questions, let me know!
