MMU Student struggling

I am a student at MMU and I cannot understand the lecturers very well (mostly gibberish coming out of their mouths). I am thinking about switching to Lancaster University where I have been and seems to be a lot better. What's your experiences at MMU like and should I move?

I studied EEE BEng at MMU and whilst I agree some of the "professors" weren't the best out there to say the least (in 4 years at Uni I, as well as everyone else, seen that with 3 or 4 of them), but I have to say that on the contrary some of the professors were great and few were fantastic.
YMMV, and I have no idea on the situation in Lancaster, but I don't see why you can't move if you feel like it. but before you do - have you or your peers tried discussing this with the head of the department? I remember we had a lady who was teaching mechanical engineering to us for a few sessions and because it was almost impossible to understand what she was saying due to her rather thick accent, many students complained and she got replaced.

Hi there,
I am an Manchester Metropolitan third year. If I couldn’t understand content being taught I would speak to my classes’s student rep, who could bring it up at the next meeting with the lecturers. Or, you could bring it up at your personal tutor meetings, as obviously it’s so important you are able to understand your subjects content! If both these options aren’t for you, you could speak to the Manchester Metropolitan student hub to discuss the issue.
I hope this all gets sorted!
Best wishes,
Emily

Hi @anonymous #1

You can ask current students studying your course about their experiences here: https://www.lancaster.ac.uk/study/chat/?popcardRedirectData=P2RlZ3JlZT01ZGRiZGFjM2I2MTczMTAyMWE4OTJhOGImbGFiZWw9QmlvbWVkaWNhbCUyMFNjaWVuY2U%3D&ub_medium=product&ub_source=University%20Popcard&ub_campaign=&ub_content=
My experience at Lancaster has been good, I have had some lecturers with accents but never super hard to understand and lectures are always recorded.

Hope this helps,
Rachel -Lancaster University Student Ambassador.
