how should I go about quitting volunteering?

i’ve been volunteering for a few months now at a mind charity shop, and recently have been offered a job, so will need to quit my volunteering. does anyone know whether I should’ve given some notice? I do feel bad but honestly I wasn’t expecting to get this job and was hired during my interview, just wondering what I should say and how I would go about quitting in the politest way. thank you

Honestly charity shops will be used to volunteers coming and going all the time and they understand that you are giving up your own time, and sometimes things come up and you can’t volunteer anymore.
If you tell them you have recently been offered a new job and aren’t able to volunteer any longer, they should completely understand!
Also most charity shops have loads of people looking to volunteer so they should find someone else quite easily, so I wouldn’t worry about it!

I actually really liked it! they didn’t expect too much of you, you don’t have to interact with customers if you don’t want/can work with the stock instead so definitely not a pressured environment but then again it depends on the managers I suppose, got things for free and discounted and had staff nights out for christmas and stuff, overall definitely better than anywhere else i’ve worked so would recommend : ) then again I assume all charity shops will be similar, but obviously since it’s a mental health focused charity they’ll probably be much better with working environment and stuff 🥰

thats good. i wish i could volunteer in one. ive done some volunteering in the library before and that's the next best thing I could do to be honest with you. i didn't really interact with the customers either in the library.
