Economics uni options dilemma

I'm currently predicted A*A*A in econ physics maths respectively but now it seems possible I could be bumped up to 3 a*'s, however got average GCSEs (9888776664). Got a decent personal statement but nothing particularly special. Currently applying for Liverpool, Leeds, Manchester, Nottingham and Durham. I'd like to apply to warwick (I've taken the TMUA, didn't go great probably got somewhere between 5/6), however until now I've thought I'd probably be an instant rejection. How would you rate my chances, would it be worth applying to warwick now? I'd probably replace Manchester. Thanks
You don’t have average GCSEs. So yes, apply to warwick if you want to.

Hello there,

Agreed, those GCSE and PG grades don't seem average to me, they seem above average and very good indeed! I would advise to go on how much you like the course. If Warwick's course appeals to you more than Manchester's and you feel like you would be happy going to Warwick, living there and being on campus etc, then I would go for it as one of your choices, because you never know.

Its always advisable when it comes to making your uni choices to have one aspirational choice with grades perhaps a little above your PGs (with 3 A*s and a strong PS you could even go for somewhere like Bath, LSE and yes Warwick) , a few choices with requirements about the same, and one safety net you can use as your insurance with requirements 1-2 grades below what you're predicted (e.g. AAA, Leeds maybe?) - as long as its somewhere you'd be very happy to go to.

Simple answer, I'd say it was worth applying if you'd rather Warwick than Manchester as it seems you have met the required PGs and have a good overall grade profile.

Hope this helps and best of luck 🙂
