Hi @Anonymous #1,
I just thought I'd give you a brief insight into life at Exeter as a student here, although I don't study History, just in case it helps you to decide!
I'm from London and chose Exeter because the campus is so green and beautiful - it's so relaxing to walk around every daysurrounded by so many trees and green spaces! Town is also only a 10 minute walk away and has everything you need, as wellas lots of lovely places to explore, go out for food or drinks or go out at night. We're also a 20 minute train ride to Exmouth which is a lovely sandy beach, which is so fun for days out in the summer or cold water swimming if you're brave enough during the winter!
I love the size of campus too - it's not so big that it's overwhelming and you'll always bump into a familiar face, but equally I'm in my final year and I still don't feel like I've outgrown it here. The staff and students are also so friendly - there is such a nice community feel around campus which I love.
There is such a range of societies at Exeter, so you'll definitely find people with similar interests to you, which is great when you first move to university. I play social netball here, and have also been a part of Taylor Swift Society and even Wine Soc which is so fun! I've also just joined Surf Soc which is amazing because I'm learning a new skill and get to explore lovely parts of Cornwall at the same time!
Overall, I have found Exeter to be such a friendly place and have met amazing people here. The best things about student life here in my opinion are definitely the campus, the proximity to the beach and beautiful areas in Devon, and the friendly atmosphere everywhere you go!
It's also worth adding that my housemate studies History and he really enjoys it and always talk about how interesting the modules he studies are!
I hope this helps and please let me know if you have any other questions about life in Exeter!
