Need help choosing a university degree

My favourite subjects are human biology, English and geography is there any university degrees I could go into that would involve these subjects. I got AAAAABB last year in my Nat 5s and used to want to go into medicine but from assessments in class I’m failing maths and chemistry so it seems unlikely I’ll do so. Thanks!!

If you’re really keen on medicine I wouldn’t give up on it yet, there’s still plenty of time before exams!!
Otherwise maybe something like environmental science? I think st andrews also offers a joint biology and geography honours degree as do some other unis.

environmental science seems like a good shout as it includes all of your favourite subjects! st andrews is meant to have a really good course there. like the other post said, if you're really passionate about doing medicine don't give up on it yet!! you can always go into medicine post grad. heres the link for the environmental science course at st andrews if you're interested - https://www.st-andrews.ac.uk/subjects/earth-environmental-sciences/environmental-earth-sciences-bsc/#discover%20%20&%20uni

Thanks for the advice, I think I’m still going to try for medicine but the biology and geography degree seems like a great back up

I’m going to look into it thanks!!! The medicine post grad seems pretty good if I don’t get the grades I need and I’m going to look into environmental sciences as a back up if it’s not possible to do medicine. Thank youuuu 😀

If I were you I would still aim for Medicine if you are able to pull up your grades. Some accept resits in the event you don't get the grades and want to spend a year out retaking. Postgraduate entry is a possibility but entry onto the fastrack programmes is super competitive. You could also apply for the standard 5 year programmes too. Additionally, there are options abroad say in Europe or the Carribean but these aren't always cheap or indeed easy to graduate from either. I would suggest Ireland but it's about as competitive there as it is in the UK if not more so as there isn't an interview process, they simply give offers to those who score the highest on the HPAT or the GAMSAT (if postgraduate entry).

But the point is there are still plenty of Medicine options and perhaps the priority ought to be to see how you could pull up the grades and get on track to meet the entry requirements.

Grad Medicine is ludicrously competitive - and you will not get 100% funding as its a 2nd undergrad degree.

Thanks I’ve managed to pull myself up to an average of a B grade in chemistry now so I’m a bit more hopeful that I’ll manage an A for th exam
