Hiiiii! I haven't done spanish yet (i picked it up 3 years into the course...), but I did french last year (yr9) and managed to get an 8!

What I found super useful is looking and memorising marking schemes. If you are doing higher, then you need more high level phrases and vocab- so that often lands on high level grammar which for gcse you don't have to know well. for many pepple who i know got the aame grade as me, they learnt one phrase for each high level rule and used it in all of their writing as much as possible. IDIOMS!!! They love idiosms! But for writing, I defo reccomend looking at what they require to get top marks. AQA have good recouses and mark schemes

For reading i would often read magazines and books by natives because i got used to random vocab you might not learn from school. Even kid's picture books are great!! And there are topic lists again which you can find on your exam board's website!

Speaking is harder to give advice on because it's rather individual to the exam board i found. But what helped me be more spontaneous which gets high marks, often i would just think of a sentence that I would say in English like : Where is the bread? and then translate it into french/Spanish as much as possible. Another important trick is to try think of as many ways as possinle to say something and just don't stick to the truth if you dont know how to say a certain word.

Listening is often the most challenging, and what did was i listened to lots of disney songs that i knew well in my target language. This also meant I learnt new words at the same time because they had to change the lyrics : ( But songs are very good. Or podcasts too i found helpful- there are many for spanish you lucky ducky!!!

Anyways, sorry its so long!! But I hope all goes well in Spanish! What yr are you btw?
