Nursing degree funding

Hi there - Wonder if you could help me. I've applied for a nursing degree at Plymouth University (a total career change) starting September 2025 (in fact, I have my interview day Monday) I already have a BA and postgrad loan from way back (20 years) - can I also get a loan for the nursing degree? I'm a bit worried I won't be able to do it because of funding. Many thanks, Samantha.

SFE classes nursing as an exception course and so disregards previous study. That means you should be eligible for both tuition fee and maintenance loans. You would also be able to apply for the additional training grant (and other benefits) from the NHS Learning Support Fund:

We hope you found the info you needed @scox825!

As mentioned below, the NHS support fund is great for applicable courses:

Also worth contacting the Student Loan Company if possible 😊

Hope your interview went well and best wishes for the next steps!
