epq essay on live-action animation?

this may be an uncommon topic - ive heard of epqs on fields such as animation and anime, but when it comes to live-action animation i really havent seen much. weve started started progress on our epq project this week, the first step being basic planning. ive had a very big passion for live-action animation since i was really young. with that being said, ive developed my focus, which is the historical and technological advancements in live-action animation, as well as an endpoint, that being presentation of different styles of said live-action animation, such as hand drawn animation, CGI and stop-motion. im aiming to link together technological innovations and different animation styles, and how this helps integrate them with live action, which will help benefit me in my future plan of developing a career surrounding IT and graphic design. are there any people who've attempted an epq with a topic similar to mine? and any suggestions or perhaps advice? the live-action animation genre is quite obscure and to my knowledge there isnt a single epq topic relating to that specific genre online, so ill have to formulate my question from scratch (sorry if that sounds weird). i can give you examples of the films and tv shows id like to study if you want. some questions iideas ve planned are:

1.

What roles have technological advancements played in developing live-action animated hybrids in modern times?

2.

To what extent has live-action animation developed since its debut?

3.

In what ways has technology advanced the way in which live action and animated elements interact?

4.

How can the case studies of notable films and shows help in shaping the evolution of live-action animation?

ps. i am developmentally mentally disabled with adhd and autism (just to name a couple) and a special needs student at a levels who happened to finish her gcses a year early (dont question me on that pls, yes i am 15 yrs old). i am recieving somewhat extra support, so please dont be too harsh on me, be gentle please, i have anxiety problems and am sensitive and yes ive got a lot to learn . a lot of things i say may seem out of place so feel me to question me on that if u need to

hi there!

first of all, as a film student i love your topic! i think questions 2 and 4 are very good. make sure the topic isn’t too broad so you don’t attempt to cover too much - i think 2 and 4 narrow it down quite well. your advisor can help with keeping this focus too and rewording your title if necessary but i think you’ve got it😌 you can probably include elements of the other questions as well in your analyse of particular films. the other questions would also work, provided that you use perhaps case study films to narrow the focus.

good luck!
