Confirming details

Hello I am 3rd computer science student retaking a module to which I had to enroll into another academic year to retake a module does this mean I am eligible for maintenance loan as i did a foundation year + 3 years, the uni is not charging me any tuition fees however I need maintenance loan to attend uni. I have applied and my application got approved but it says “Awaiting Confirmation - Your university or college need to confirm to us that you’ve registered on your course”.
Will I still be able to get maintenance loan to finish my degree for one module I am retaking?

Hi there,

We're fine to release this payment so long as your university sends us Confirmation of Registration.

Have they told you that they're okay to send this? Have they mentioned Confirmation of Registration to you at all?

Thanks, Graeme

Yes they have mentioned but I’m still waiting for my university to give them confirmation as I’m full time enrolled

It's definitely worth asking them about this on Monday.

So, if they're happy to send us Confirmation of Registration then that's all we need.

It's up to the university to decide when to send it. So, we'd recommend asking them exactly when they'll send it, just so you know for sure.

Thanks, Graeme

Does the payment still say 'awaiting confirmation'?

It's just the payment can't actually be released until we get Confirmation of Registration.

Thanks, Graeme

As you are registered at Brunel University of London for the 2024/2025 academic year as undertaking a re-assessment without attendance, you are not entitled to receive any statutory support from the Government via the Student Loans Company (SLC) for this period of time.

There is no tuition fee for the 2024/2025 academic year. You'll need to self-fund your living costs.

We have notified the SLC and they will notify you of the impact on your funding that you have applied for this academic year. (My uni emailed me this)

I told them I only applied to maintenance and not tuition fees

Hi there,

If your university are classing you as a student as not in attendance then you will not get any funding from us.

Thanks, Drew
