Need some help for what I should do.

So basically I had in mind of making UHI's bsc hons forestry and treescapes management course my insurance choice, as the only entry requirements a level wise is just 2 a levels that are a D grade or higher, however I got an email from them a while back saying that all people applying for this course will be transferred to the HND forestry course instead.

I don't really get the logic behind this, as sure, forestry isn't studied at a levels, but surely as long as you meet the entry requirements, then you should be allowed to do the course you choose, as otherwise then I will have to do 5 years instead of 4 years.

Does anyone have any advice on what I should do, I emailed the university asking about this, but they just said that another member of staff will get back to me eventually, yet it's even 4-5 weeks since then.

Should I just withdraw my choice for that course or should I wait until I get a reply back from the staff?
I'm just nervous, as I really want to go to Bangor as my firm choice, and as Bangor guarantees Forest year accommodation if you firm them, it's basically first come first serve and I can't really make my choices on who I want to firm and make as an insurance until I get an offer from UHI.

It sounds as though UHI may have discontinued this as a degree subject and now only offer it as an HND - but only they can confirm this. You don't need to panic about this - you don't have to make any decisions for months, so hold on and wait for the Uni to get back to you and explain the change.

If you really want to go to Bangor, then it probably makes sense to just put that as your firm. As McGinger says it looks like that course at UHI may be discontinued. The one at Bangor is only 3 years, requires lower grades than you're likely to get, does really well on NSS, and Bangor is a great place to go to Uni so I don't think you can go wrong
