GSK Biological and Biomedical Science Industrial Placement 2025 - 2026

Hi,

Has anyone else on here has applied for the Biomedical Sciences Industrial Placement at GSK? I've completed both parts of my assessment and the application portal says 'Recruiter Review.' It's been like this for a while. Has anyone heard back for an interview yet?

Hi,

I didn't apply for Biomedical Sciences, but I did for Clinical Operations and I've got the same in my portal as you. I saw someone say they got an interview for a different placement a few days ago so hopefully we can hear something soon, they might be going through applications for different departments one at a time.

Hi applied for analytical chemistry rather than biomedical science, it says recruiter review until you've been invited for an interview, they will send you an email first one inviting you and another from microsoft teams. The actual portal won't update until a while even after you've been invited, my interview was today and the portal only just updated to 'interview' today. The actual interview was terrible though 😀

Good luck! Another long wait for an offer 😭. Is it just a panel interview where they ask you lots of questions or do you have group tasks and other activities?

So I had 2 interviewers and they just kinda tag teamed in giving me questions and instructions. Mine was a strengths based, motivation and technical interview. So strengths was like situations kind of like the virtual assessment and how you would approach them. Motivations if i remember correctly was just a single question about why you want do a placement there. My technical parrt of the interview was chemistry question about year 13 and year 1 university level and i had about 3 or 4 questions to answer. I also got invited for another role there as i applied to multiple, which was pharmacovigilance and they asked me to prepare a 10 minute presentation before the interview and send it to them via email before a specified deadline, I personally didnt want to do it as I dont think i want a year placement anymore. Also if you get an interview invite you need to reply i think within 2 or 3 days or theyll take back the invitation.

nope it was just a microsoft teams and then boom just me and the two interviewers and it started, i was a little underwhelmed tbh. It was meant to last from 12 to 14:30 but mine ended at about 1:30 ish. It doesn't feel as serious as you'd expect theyr'e also just dressed casually in jumpers and stuff so i felt so off wearing a whole blazer. I dont wanna spoil the technical side too much since i need a chance at progressing too 😭 but I'll just say brush up on year 1 university knowledge. Good luck if you have an interview.

Omg i feel you, I've only applied for like 3-4 but I'm so over the rejection/waiting. Really need the experience though so I'll keep pushing 😭.

I started applying late and missed so many deadlines, so I'm hoping more applications open in January. I'm applying to work in NHS labs, but those aren't paid. 😔

There should def be some more opening up soon, I saw GSK put up a bunch more non-lab placements the other day. You can always try a speculative application too if there's a lab/company you really want to go to without a placement scheme.

I didn't think about speculative applications. I assume most companies would ignore the email but I might give it a go.

It sounds like you'd be with other candidates to me, maybe presentation, some group tasks and some individual questions? I have no idea since I'm not that far along yet. Maybe ask some of the mentors on Connectr for some advice if you can find anyone on there doing a chemical sciences placement?

My dd had an interview for this on Monday snd said they’re giving an answer this week. She also has an interview for the clinical operations one (I think it’s that one anyway) tomorrow. Good luck. So many students applying for limited spaces. Keep trying if you’re not successful

I haven't, still on recruiter review. Are you, or did you do an interview?
