epq ideas that link psychology/neuroscience/public health/social sciences?

hi im in y11 and considering taking an epq next year as part of my a level decision. if i did it i'd want to write it about something relatively sciency considering although im not sure ill take any stem subjects at a level, its mostly because i dont want to do maths and im better at essay subjects so i know with just 1 science my options are pretty limited. i am interested in things like history/politics/econ and i think it could be interesting to come back to science but from a perspective of like public health and how diseases affect human behaviour if that makes sense, im interested in taking psychology and neurology/tropical disease electives and if there is a specific issue i could write something on from this social sciences angle it would make me feel better about not taking chemistry a level 😛 does this sound like a legitimate, good idea and something that could broaden my uni application, and if so is there anything that comes to mind as a good, modern, topical idea? thanks so much i hope this made sense

Hiya!

I did an EPQ as well and even just the skills associated with doing it (research etc) are really valuable skills in preparing for uni. I'd say how much you can apply the contents you write about depends on what degree subject you end up applying for, but it sounds like a really interesting topic regardless! Your research topic relates to a key field in psychology right now actually - Health Psychology  Looking at the relationship between psychology and disease is what psychologists in this field usually do!

Its always a brilliant idea to do it on a topic you're really interested about - I did one social sciences related and it helped me choose what degree I wanted to do actually (psychology)! Wish you the best for your EPQ  I really enjoyed it and I hope you will too!
