i dono it explains alot of other theories such as einstein's theory of special relativity which couldnt be explained before, and e=mc2 just is an unexplicable interchange of energy and matter unless the theory is sound. must be right

for those who dont understand, it states that all matter in the universe, and antimatter are held together with energy (string).

Like most of physics string theory is a fudge. It comes in 5 variations for a start all under the heading of M-theory. And they still cant explain gravity with it. And then there is the necessity of the 11 dimensions of course.

For anyone interested in the basics of String Theory I recommend 'An Elegant Universe' by Brian Greene.

matter is made of one-dimensional vibrating strings, to be simple.
