Drug Driving Conviction and being able to study nursing?

Hi all,
I'm just looking for some advice really.

I am currently studying an Access to HE course in college with the hopes of attending university next year to study nursing. However, I have a drug driving offence on my DBS from 2019 it was for driving whilst under the influence of Cannabis. I was young and foolish and made a massive mistake! So my question is, do you think I will be able to attend university to study nursing and become a nurse after? Has anyone ever been in this situation before or know someone who has?
This has been a dream of mine since I was in high school, I just don't want to be doing this extra studying now to try and get me there if it is going to be a waste.

Any advice would be very much appreciated!

Contact a charity called Unlock- they deal with criminal records for England and Wales- would 100% show in Scotland's disclosure system as not older than 15 years. I would contact Unlock to ask when this will not show up- think they have a calculator to work it out on their website. If it shows, then it will be down to you to make an argument about being allowed to study. Or sit and wait until you do not need to declare. Unlock can help. Good luck!

Drink-driving, drug-driving and other offences that result in disqualification could call your fitness to practise into question, but only where they are closely linked to your practice or call your health into question. They are dealt with by the NMC on a case by case basis.

Read more about this on the NMC's website.

disclose it but if it was unrelated to nursing.. and it was not a repeat offence you will get in but do some reflexion on it, they will ask questions.
