Oxbridge math interview

Could they potentially ask you a mechanics/physics type of problem

has the (very) odd mechanics question, ,just like they may ask you about stats. Different colleges do things slightly differently and mostly theyre trying to see if youre capable of doing step / being taught, so if you dont manage the odd question its not necessarily a deal breaker.

Tbh, the interview questions try not to make too many assumptions about depth and try and see how you answer harder questions (harder is relative as you have maybe 10-15 min at most) with a few hints, so a couple of mechanics off the top of my head

if you were on a roundabout (spinning) and threw a ball to your mate whos directly opposite, describe what would happen

give a simple model of how a frictional force depends on the perpendicular weight/reaction.

These are not based on any actuall questions afaik.

Yes now everyone has to study mechanics/stats.

When Maths A level was modular some schools did not offer mechanics.
