Can I do drama in university without picking it for gcse

Is it possible to do drama in university without picking it for gcse
And same for history
I would also like to get your opinions if you would rather pick history but then all your subjects would be written subjects without practicals or pick drama
And pretend as if you like both of them equally
Without doing it for GCSEs? Yes you can, but without it for A Levels? No

Yes but you most likely would need a grade 5 in English lit and lang to qualify. 🫶

Sorry I thought you were on about a levels 🤦*♀️. Umm I’m not sure. Have a look at a drama uni course that interests you and look at the entry requirements on their website. Otherwise if there is no info then I would contact them. With history, it is preferable that you studied history at gcse or uni, or something similar like ancient history or another humanities subject. Well that’s what my uni says and I’m currently studying history at UWTSD 🫶

Please can tell me about A levels
Many university drama courses have no specific subject entry requirements at either GCSE or A level. Other than passes in English language and maths GCSE, many simply specify A level grades (often including an essay subject) or a number of UCAS points. It would be useful to have one or more A levels from

English Literature

Drama/ theatre studies

English literature and language

Other good A levels would be history or media studies or a relevant level 3 BTEC.

There's lots of useful insight at https://www.theuniguide.co.uk/subjects/drama-and-theatre-studies

A Levels come after GCSEs, they just help you zone into and deepen that subject, so maths, u learn about basic trig, sohcahtoa, but in a level, u go further than that, doing cast diagrams and solving trig equations

certain uni courses have specific requirements for a level. Maths would be maths, and in some cases further maths. but for drama, music etc, no specific a levels for uni

However if u ar certain about doing it for uni its best to do it for a level to be one step ahead than the others (imo)
