Applied for CPR for a tuition loan this year but it has been applied to the next

Hi,
I have been at uni for a number of years now. On the first year of my new course (four years) I had one year of funding left, this was applied to the last year. However I applied for CPR (health reasons) which was accepted and the tuition loan was applied to that year.

However this year, I applied again for CPR which was accepted again but was applied to the next academic year. Their reasoning was that I’d already progressed into my second year, however, the last time I’d applied I had already progressed into the first year. I’m very confused as to why it wasn’t just applied to this year.

Next year is an industrial placement year. Provided I get one, I’ll be in a position to pay the reduced tuition fees without a problem. However, I simply can’t afford to pay for it this year. Is there a way to appeal this and request that the years of funding be swapped?

Thank you very much for reading and any response will be greatly appreciated.
Hi there,

If you have progressed from year 1 to year 2 then you cannot get Compelling Personal Reasons. With your Compelling Personal Reasons that was awarded was this for a different course that you had started?

Thanks, Drew

Hi,

I had done two different courses previously and both of the compelling reasons were for them. One for the first and the other for the next. It has been accepted but for the next academic year not the current one. Thank you for your response.
Hi james984566,

There isn't a way to appeal how an extra year of tuition funding through Compelling Personal Reasons is applied to your new course, do you have any other years of previous study that you didn't progress from that you can apply for?

Thanks,
Calum

Hello,

No I think that I’ve applied for all of the years that I didn’t progress. Is there anything further I can do?

Thank you
James

Hi there,

In this it would be best to access your account so we can check this.

For example, we can make a referral to the assessment team to ask if this is possible,

We'd recommend calling us on 0300 100 0607. Or, you can send us a live chat on your account on Monday morning.

Thanks, Graeme
