personal statement help with international business and international management

I want to apply for International business at some uni’s and international management at others so i can widen my variety of russell groups- but how should i word this in my personal statement? I was thinking to just say smth like “I wish to study International Business and management”, but would it be broad enough to get offers for? idk if i make sense lmao

Hi,
There is this website called unifrog, which offers some good advice on how to write personal statements. Ill attach the example below, but mainly, aim to write about your experience and why you want to do this degree.

This is the example for you:
International business and management is my top priority because it reflects my interests in social sciences. Globalisation and the involvement of large multinational companies like Google, Apple and Unilever has commenced my interest in business management and economics as well as the social interactions and implications.
I have always wondered how firms are able to grow so large and function on so many markets globally and simultaneously be in control of all their operations. Business and management interests me because it implements the structure behind entrepreneurs’ ideas and brings projects from vision to reality. Efficient management contributes to accomplishing goals and building strong market positions. The key to business success is leadership and management, which are very different skills. I agree with Annmarie Neal in that “A leader is somebody who sees opportunity and puts change in motion. A manager is somebody who follows that leader and sees how to structure things to create value for the company.” (author of Leading from the Edge). I think efficient management is the real reason for business success. On top of that, having a good cultural understanding of a target market is what enables international success. I think being international is more of a necessity than a choice in today’s markets, and a managerial success corresponds with a broader understanding of international business issues.
Management is a discipline, which has to be learned, and I believe that attending this course would prepare me for a career in the field and give me broad knowledge and understanding of the business environment.
Two of my strengths include critical thinking and implementing solutions. Using logic and reasoning I can identify challenges and opportunities as well as the strengths and weaknesses of solutions, draw conclusions, and find constructive approaches to problem solving. Identifying problems, and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions are some of my strengths.
I take HL Economics, which analyzes and explains how societies allocate their scarce resources among competing parties. It helps me understand how different entities interact within markets to accomplish certain goals. Since economics is a driving force of human interaction, studying it often reveals why people behave in particular ways, and I find the human aspect of business interesting.
My second choice was HL Social Anthropology, which is closely related to Economics, because all human behavior takes place within a cultural context. I think culture is an invaluable factor for those who seek to understand consumption. Social Anthropology helps me understand the social environment in which people live and the impact of this social environment upon their motivations, attitudes, and behavior, which is a critical part of customer understanding.
Active participation in the Burmese Refugee Assistance Programme at my school has developed my group working skills. I fundraised by making donations, as well as asking individuals and firms for donations, which had to be a coordinated group effort. I also travelled to Thailand to work together with Burmese immigrants by building houses, water tanks, irrigation systems and planting trees, in order to develop organic and sustainable farming. I have also been part of a prom committee at my school, and along with fellow students, I was in charge of organizing a venue. We had to coordinate our efforts and communicate with multiple venues to find the most appropriate deal.
I think my passion for the subject and the personal qualities I have developed through my experiences make me an ideal candidate for the course. I am looking for an opportunity to further my personal development and knowledge of international business and management by enrolling at this course. I feel it is the best option for me and I hope that you will look favorably upon my application.
