Audiology :)

Hi, I am applying for Audiology at DMU, Southampton, Aston, Swansea and Middlesex. My predicted are BBC (B in bio btw) and I was wondering if any previous students such as from last years cohort could tell me if they had similar grades and how the application process was. I am wondering if I would be getting offers due to my predicted since the entry requirements are BBB and ABB. Thank you for taking your time to read this and I hope you have a good day

Applying to ABB courses with BBC might be a bit of a stretch. However, if they don't give you an offer, they might offer you a foundation year course instead if they have one. Do you have any chance of improving the C prediction before your application goes in?

Also, there is a thread for this year's audiology applicants that you might want to kick off:

Hello @Jetheesha, hope you are doing good.

It's great to know that you are interested in Swansea University!

The required grades for Audiology are indeed BBB, Healthcare Science (Audiology), BSc (Hons) - Swansea University. However, the admissions team consider much more than just your A-Levels grades. They assess your GCSE grades, personal statement, references and work or voluntary experience (if applicable). So while you of course have to put in a lot of effort to get the required grades, don't forget to also take your time drafting a truthful, straight forward yet impactful personal statement. It could go a long way.

Also, like @normaw said, if you aren't made an offer for the main scheme, you may be made an offer for foundation year. It may also be an offer for a similar course with lower entry requirements, School of Health and Social Care Undergraduate Courses - Swansea University.

And as a last resort, you may have to apply to the universities via clearing.

Wishing you the very best in your exams and application process!

Hey there 😁

It’s great to hear you’re considering DMU! Reaching out to the universities you’re interested in will be definitely a smart move here. Start by contacting the Admissions or Enquiries team, as they can review your grades and circumstances and provide clear guidance on your options and chances. They’re your best resource if you’re concerned about missing some UCAS points.

Remember, many universities offer reduced tariffs, so it’s important to explore all your options. Admissions teams often consider more than just your predicted grades when evaluating your application. Stay determined and keep pushing for your goals!

I hope it was helpful 💪 Feel free to reach out if you have any questions 😉 You can also chat with me or other students directly through The Ambassador Platform.

Take care,
