The Student Room Group

studytee .v.s. the gcse’s ?!

hello!

i go by tee here and i’m in year 11! i’m 16 and live in london. this is going to be a hub for my journey from mocks all the way to my final exams!!!

aspirations:
get STRAIGHT 7-9’s next august and study at bma, ncs, lae or hw 🤞
study english literature, history, economics and maths/politics
get A/A*s and study at an ivy league!!
study law to work in investment banking or corporate law (diplomacy seems super attractive though!)

hobbies:
•drawing (this had died thanks to art..)
•reading!!! (started getting into audiobooks they’re lovely too??)
•cooking (prefer eating my friend’s cookery)
•roblox (speaks for itself)

last year’s mocks:
art- ?
biology- 6
chemistry- 8 (no clue how??)
computer science- 9 😎
english literature- 9 (all time favourite subject, unbeatable)
history- 9 (close contender)
maths- 7- (weakest subject, so proud??)
physics- 7

achieved gcse’s:
english language- 8 + distinction
citizenship studies- 8
(again super, super proud with this little set as i busted my a*se with just a month to self teach and revise)

as you can see, in year 10 i was on a roll and i want to keep that in tenfold from year 11 onwards!

all i know is that my grade average for this autumn falls at a very low 8, and i want to better it for my mock. to tell the truth, i’ve also not been on my a-game the past few months.

let’s support each other through these times, for we’ll only have each other and ourselves to thank in some 9 months from now.

tee, out!

I did, only cos i was online the second the tickets opened. Even 500 tickets out of 1000 went in the first ten minutes.
Did you sign up for the online open day though?

if u wanna go ivy league, ncs is arguably the best skl in the country for it esp since they have a dedicated programme to send students to ivy leagues. They send ppl to harvard, princeton, MIT, stanford etc each year and have the highest ivy league admissions rate in the country. Js search up ncs ivy league or what sixth form is best for ivy league on google for stats

that’s a really good point but i’m in two places about actually going here. they seem to only have heavy support for stem students which is no help to me but other than that it seems purrfect

i heard their humanities side is rlly strong aswell tho. They get ppl doing law, philosopy, english etc at oxbridge every year and i saw on their website they even get students internships/work placements w top law firms (https://sixthform.london/a-level-results/ if u scroll down to Samiya's story)
