Hi,

Everybody has their own favourite study spots and reasonings so here are a few links to reviews on common / favourite places to give you a better idea of each one and whether you could see yourself studying there:

I have found studying in Lancaster Central Library in the city centre to be really helpful - it's always quiet, there are public computers, wifi, printing / photocopying / scanning, as well as their collection of books and texts. Last time I walked past they were advertising coffee and cakes being sold too so although not a cafe or bar they were offering refreshments.

Usually cafes and bars do not mind you studying, so long as you buy something so I wouldn't worry about that - just pick somewhere to go, spur of the moment choice, take your books and laptop and go! And if they do mind you studying or you can't focus there or any other reasons as to why it wasn't successful then there are plenty of other options so their loss!

Hope this helps, Ella - Lancaster University Student Ambassador
