Nightlife at Aberystwyth

hi i'm thinking of going to the Aberystwyth university and was just wondering if the nightlife is any good there.

We're thrilled you're considering Aberystwyth University!

Our Students' Union is very active with regular events, especially (but not limited to) during Fresher's Week with late night events such as Bingo Lingo, Fresher's Quiz, Icebreakers, and more! They also hold key events such as AberChallenge, Superteams, Varsity, Aber7s, and a Student Volunteer Week. We also have over 90 student societies and 50 sports clubs you can choose from who all hold various events throughout the week! Whether you're interested in drama, debating, dance, or outdoor adventures like surfing, hiking, or even caving, there are always evening activities planned by various groups, allowing you to find your crowd and join in on meaningful experiences.

Our seafront offers stunning views of Cardigan Bay, and it's especially magical at sunset and groups of friends often gather to socialize and spend time on the beach, whether stargazing or hosting beach bonfires, which have become something of a cherished student tradition.

There’s also a cool underground music scene in Aberystwyth. It's not super formal, and you’ll often come across live acoustic sets in random locations or open mic nights where everyone gives it a go. And if you're into film, there are screenings organized by student groups, which makes for a chill but fun way to spend an evening.

Everything in Aberystwyth is within easy walking distance, which makes it super convenient to enjoy weekly events in the local pubs, where you’ll often find live music or a great atmosphere for meeting new people. It’s a lively, close-knit community that offers a blend of traditional and alternative nightlife options, making sure there's always something exciting to do.
