Looking for Internship/Work Shadowing Opportunities in Birmingham

Hi everyone!

I'm a Business Management and Leadership student at Coventry University, currently finishing my first year and nearly moving into Year 2. I’m seeking an internship or work shadowing opportunity starting after 13th December 2024, as I’ll be on a 6-month term break until 6th May 2025.

I’m particularly interested in roles related to business management, leadership, recruitment, HR, people services, and commercial roles, but I’m open to exploring other areas as well. During this period, I'm available for full-time engagements and am eager to gain practical experience before starting my placement year.

You’re welcome to suggest summer internships or other programmes, but please note that I am a May intake student, which means I have no summer break as my new term starts in May. I’m keen to make the most of this extended break.

If you know of any relevant opportunities or have recommendations, please feel free to share! Any support would be greatly appreciated.

It’s great that you’re being proactive about seeking opportunities during your break! Start by updating your CV and LinkedIn profile to highlight your coursework, skills, and experiences, and use Coventry University’s career services, lecturers, and job fairs for guidance and networking. Platforms like LinkedIn, Indeed, and TargetJobs are excellent for finding internships, but also consider reaching out directly to companies you admire, as smaller organizations or startups often provide hands-on experience. Let your friends, family, and university contacts know you’re looking, as personal recommendations can lead to opportunities, and don’t overlook the possibility of remote roles, which can offer flexibility and valuable experience. Finally, make the most of networking events, professional groups, and forums related to HR, leadership, and business management to connect with industry professionals and discover potential opportunities.
