BTEC

Hi all,

I am currently studying a level 3 extended diploma in health and social care. I have currently changed my mind on what career path i would like to pursue but i am unsure whether i would be able to progress onto this in university. I would really like to do psychology in university and afterwards, complete a postgraduate doctorate in psychology. Would this be something i could do with a health and social care BTEC? TIA for any advice!

It depends on what university and their subject and grade entry requirements. do you have any in mind?

I’m not particularly bothered about which university I end up at, but I am interested in salford university.

Salford accept a BTEC Level 3 (no subject requirement noted) at DMM for their BSc Psychology. https://www.salford.ac.uk/courses/undergraduate/psychology

Hey @mckia7 !

Amazing to hear you're interested in us! As @bamtutor mentions below we're more than happy to consider an application from you with a BTEC Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care. The only other qualification requirement we have is GCSE/Level 2's at a grade 4/pass in English and Maths. I would definitely recommend visiting us to see how you feel about the course we offer - our next Open Day is on Saturday 11th January if you fancied visiting to check us out, but you can also find loads of info on the content of our course on our website.

If you have any questions about our course let me know - happy to help as always!
