BSc Psychology at University of Bath

I want to go to the University of Bath next year but I am aware that BSc Psychology is a highly competitive course. I am predicted A*AA with an A* in Psychology, an A in Biology, and an A in English Literature. At GCSE I got 9,9,8,8,8,8,7,7,7 so I meet the requirements for having at least a 7 in GCSE Maths and at least a 6 in GCSE English Language. Although I meet all the requirements, would I be likely to be given an offer and be considered equally compared to those with higher predicted grades than I have, or are those with higher predicted grades more likely to be accepted than I am?
Hi! I got my offer for BSc Psych a few days back, i got A*AA predicted too and I have the exact same GCSEs as you! Definitely consider it ) Good luck!

Hey there,

I did this course at Bath and yes, I couldn't recommend it enough - the variety is great and you get to learn such a great combination of topics and research techniques, and the teaching quality is incredible.

Just leaping in here to reassure you that its not all about your PGs 🙂 whilst they are important, so is your overall academic profile (which is very good!), your subject combination (also shows a good variety of skills), and your personal statement. Most unis look at a number of different factors when considering an application, of which grades are only a part. I would say although its never possible to predict whether someone will get an offer or be accepted, I believe from what you've shared you have a very good chance of making a competitive application - so go for it!

As long as you are sensible with your other choices (i.e. ensure that you have an insurance choice you'd be happy to go to with grades pitched 1-2 grades below your PGs), then Bath sounds like a realistic one to aim for for you.

Congrats by the way Anon 2 on your offer!

Wishing you both the best of luck 🙂 please shout if you have any questions
