50cm3 of methane is burned in 150cm3 of oxygen: CH4 + 2O2 ---> CO2 + 2H2O Calculate the total volume of the mixture after reaction measured at r.t.p.
Hello Slowmaybe!
This is my first suggestion while I await your work. In order to solve this problem, you need to carry out three steps: -Identification of the limiting reactant. -Determination of the amount of each product formed. (I will give you a little more help ==>from the reaction you can see ==> 1 volume of CH4 produces ==> 1 volume of CO2 and 2 volumes of H2O). -Calculation of the total volume of the mixture after the reaction (combustion).
