Yes of course! There’s not a fashion a level or anything like that so universities that offer fashion courses aren’t looking at your application from an entirely academic perspective but more so want to see how you have engaged with fashion.

This is where your personal statement will really come into play, make sure you’re engaging with fashion areas such as magazines, fashion weeks, fashion marketing such as advertising etc (depending on what you’re applying for). Get involved with many fashion projects/events as you can!

In short, you can absolutely apply for fashion, given you form a personal statement that suits it.

Hi @gskhn

I would suggest doing a art and design foundation year after A-levels to help you build your skills and a portfolio for applying to fashion courses or careers.

You could also build your portfolio now in your spare time through drawing fashion illustrations and sewing.

I hope this helps

Hi there!

Great to hear you're interested in doing fashion. And yes, this is absolutely something you can do with a wide variety of A Levels. For example, Loughborough uni's fashion design and tech degree simply ask for ABB from 3 A levels (any A levels) and a portfolio submitted electronically. So if fashion is something you love and have engaged with outside school, you can showcase this through your creative portfolio and yes your personal statement.

Just remember to talk about why you want to study fashion, how you've engaged with it and followed through on that inspiration, and what makes you a good candidate who would be well prepared for a fashion degree. Try to showcase both your passion/enthusiasm and your aptitude and preparedness.

I hope this helps and best of luck to you!
