economics at uni

I am currently predicted AAA (do maths and econ alevel), and got (8888887766) at gcse (8 maths).

I want to apply to unis like (Bath, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Surrey).

I feel like i can get the offers from them, but im not sure if in the actual exam ill be able to get an A in maths because i dont put enough effort in.

Ive heard unis often give lower offers than what they said at the actual time, but is there a way to check whoch unis often do this and for what courses.

or how can i study in order to improve my maths in time for exams

Take a look at the page for each course at each uni on UCAS Search and scroll down to the "Historical entry grades data" section.

For example, we can see from the UCAS Search page for Economics at Surrey (here) that, in recent years, 9 in 10 applicants receives an offer and that the average grade profile of those who ultimately joined the course was BBB. This is despite the standard entry requirements being AAB.

The data available in this section on UCAS Search isn't flawless (for example, they don't distinguish between contextual and non-contextual candidates) but it should give you what you're looking for.

Put more effort in maths then. Don't try to find the easiest way out just work hard and get the grades you need. Have a couple backup options that you are happy with to put as your insurance option in case you miss the grades anyway, but try your best to do get the higher grades.
