If you are in an F.E college or Sixth Form someone will be around to proof read it for you.
If you are applying to go into a career in a particular area, see if there are any organisations which talk about professional values. For instance, a lot of my students go on to be nurses so they look at the Nursing and Midwifery Council's values and talk about how their experiences fulfil them.
