Advice re Bristol vet school

I've applied for the 4 year! The waiting is stressing me out!

did u have to do the saq ?

did u get an offer recently?

I got an offer probably about 2-3 weeks ago

I applied in October and got an offer this week for Bristol vet school, hopefully any current students can give me any pros and cons with the vet school?
Or any advice that would be useful

Hi, I also applied to Bristol and got an offer very shortly after. I live in Bristol and currently it's my top choice. It's a lovely area and the university looks really great. I'm obvs not a current student but I have done work experience and open days at the uni and it's only been positive! Where else are you applying? I'm Liverpool, Nottingham and Cambridge (Cam has fallen from my top due to the recent RCVS report eek)

I applied to uclan, Nottingham (got an interview) and harper and Keele (rejected).
I think it has fallen from a lot of people’s list cos of that report 😬 from what I hear they’re doing what they can to rectify it

I relocated here four years ago and love it - it's definitely my true home! Don't worry about Harper and Keele - you only need one offer and YOU HAVE IT CONGRATS!!! YOU SHOULD BE SO PROUD!! I've also got an interview from Nottingham (found out today)! so wish you luck with that too! I did my liverpool interview today and it was surprisingly ok as the questions are pre recorded. I have a Cambridge one in a few weeks which I'm going to be so anxious for. When is your nottingham interview? Hope you hear back from UCLAN soon!

First, I just want to say good luck to all the vet school applicants! I know that going through the interview process can be really stressful, and many of us can relate to that feeling. As someone mentioned earlier, remember that you only need one offer in the end!
I’m a second-year vet student at UCLan, and I still remember how I felt during my application process. I got my interview invitation in February, and I know some people received their invitations even later. So if you haven’t heard back from the schools yet, don’t worry! there’s still time, and each school has its own schedule.
Remember, the interview is not just about showing the school what you can do, it's also a chance for you to see if the school is a good fit for you.

I’ve already responded to you earlier in the thread, I got it about 2-3 weeks ago, I cannot remember the exact day.

May I know you are local or international student? We are students from Hong Kong. My classmates and myself got email that the Bistrol's application is on hold. However, it is lucky that most of us already have conditional offer from Glasgow and Liverpool. Interview by Edinburgh will be mid Jan.

Hi! First year student here . The course is very new atm, we're the second cohort to have this new set up but honestly I think it's great. This is going to be a long response haha.
We have a LOT of content (expected) so the hardest thing for me currently is just accepting that you'll always be behind on your work which is quite jarring but 2nd/3rd year students I know say that the sooner you accept this the happier you'll be LOL.
The CBL (case based learning) is fantastic in my opinion. Every week we're given a new case which we work through as a group with potential diagnoses and what we think is important to the case and then go away for the week and research. My group have actually organised weekly kahoot sessions to make sure we're all familiar with the content which is really fun and a great way to stay on top of the subject at hand, then an expert comes in and goes through it for 2 hours to make sure we're all on the same page.
Lectures are great, professors are engaging and clearly know a lot about their subject. I would recommend getting to speed with anki because using flashcards for anatomy/CBL cases in particular is amazing for staying on top of active recall and will help a LOT. Its a great mix of study techniques in my opinion, even though it's still quite new.
In short, we have a good balance of group work (every thursday in langford), lectures (daily, some online some in person), and practicals (every friday). We had our first osce's last week and 2 assignments handed in 2 weeks ago. Then 2 online exams in the next 2 weeks (don't count to your grade, just so you can understand where you're at and how exams work). You can do them from home as we finish content on the 3rd december so you get a good month off.
