We recommend that you apply as soon as you are able to as courses may occasionally close early. Our webpage will be updated with any changes to application deadlines. You should also take into account any deadlines for funding applications, such as scholarships 🤗🍂

The maintenance loan for 2025/2026 has slightly increased, check out below some details around Student Finance England for PG study:
Masters Loan – up to £12,858
•
Not means tested
•
Loans are available for full-time and part-time study
•
Not means tested
•
Check eligibility – For example: Might not be able to apply if receiving other funding.
Some key info:
•
These amounts will be split across the duration of your course
•
Loans are paid directly to you in three instalments at the start of each term - you will be responsible for ensuring your fees are paid to the University on time
•
The first instalment of the loan will be paid once you have registered for your course and your registration has been confirmed to Student Finance England
•
Masters Excellence Scholarship 2025/26 - Means 25% discount if you have a first class degree from a UK university and you are a Home Student. Check out our webpage here!

Essex Alumni loyalty discount - Tuition fee discount for our graduates! You can get 33% discount if you have a first/Distinction, 2.1/Merit, 2.2/Pass. If you meet all the eligibility criteria, you will automatically be considered for this award. Check out our webpage here!

Our Postgraduate Open Evening on Wednesday 19 March will be offered both in-person at our Colchester Campus as well as virtually, so if you are unable to travel, you can engage with our talks and other content from the comfort of your own home.
Maybe you've already applied but haven't visited us yet, or you’re holding an offer from us and want to find out more. If you study with us currently or not, we can’t wait to welcome you to chat about studying a postgraduate course. Book your place to chat to like-minded students and discover more about studying with us.
Our in-person event will begin at 3.30pm and finish at 7pm – drop in any time, the programme of talks is listed below. Talks will also be available virtually via our webpage - you'll just need to sign into Zoom to access them on the day.
