calorie controlled diet for someone with obesity
for someone lactose intolerant or gluten free
an international school menu for kids- i’m thinking of doing this one but don’t know if it’s too complicated

I think I’m doing international menu. It seems to be fairly easy and there is a wide range of dishes

Always go for something international, it opens up a LOT of doors for possible meals you can do + makes the research easy because you just research different culture's foods and possibly traditions + researching kids is easy, if they're growing they need a lot of protein but their meals shouldn't be too big as they're quite small and we don't want them to get fat lol. Last year I did Plan, prepare, cook and present a range of dishes that celebrate an event, occasion or festival from around the world (I know it's AQA but regardless, it's culture related, made research super easy. I did mine on Mexican food, specifically celebrating day of the dead)

thank you so much that was so helpful! for the international brief do you think i should do multiple cuisines( like 1 for each dish) or stick with one throughout?

That's totally up to you, I had the same question so I ended up emailing one of the AQA staff and they said it was completely up for interpretation. Obviously what I did can't 100% apply to what you did, but do whatever is easiest. I personally stuck to 1 culture since I was doing 1 specific event (although it was always an option for me to do multiple) because there was already a plethora of dishes I could've chosen. I'd say since yours is all about being international you can do multiple cuisines.

heyy i think mentioning things like the eatwell guide and NHS 8 guidelines to healthy eating show prior knowlegde. i would probably talk about that and break down each food group into why its beneficial/ bad for someone with obesity. also, i think talking about what obesity is and its causes obviously as well as a survey. i made mine up and pretended i asked kids(i'm doing the other brief) but it shows you really undertsand the target audience

also for high skill dishes a lot of people in my class did a chicken caesar salad where you debone the chicken and julienne the veg, fish tacos, pasta e.g. raviolo, fruit cheesecake or using dark choclate to try make desserts healthier!
