Apprenticeship or A levels

Im generally a higher grade student, i want to become a civil engineer and im not sure wether to take the A-level and uni route or the full apprenticeship route. I’d prefer to do hands on work and get experience than sit in a classroom and get debt from uni. however, i do imagine employers will prefer a uni student over a apprenticeship kid. Id start with level 3 civil engineering apprenticeship, then onto a construction site engineering technician level 4 apprenticeship after that onto a level 6 civil engineering degree apprenticeship. I would like to study in the USA although im not sure if thats possible with the apprenticeship route but im really sick of the classroom stuff now. Im definitely capable of doing civil engineering im just not 100% on which route to take. My dad has connections with some civil engineers that are able to set me up with apprenticeships so that makes it easier. I’m applying for both options to keep my options open. What would you recommend i do?

Just take the apprenticeship route if you don't like a classroom. 3 years of experience is very valuable IMO

you don't have to do a levels then uni or apprenticeship fully you could do a lvl 3 apprenticeship and uni or similarly a levels and a level 6 apprenticeship. there's no set route into engineering, the bonus with apprenticeships is that if you like the company with the apprenticeship is that you could stay there as they are likely to hire you after you're apprenticeship (not guaranteed but like you're already trained in that company so it can be favourable) also with the apprenticeship side you'd also be getting work experience at the same time but it's up to you what you do. Apprenticeships do have a lot of work tho bc you've got study (college or uni which isn't partnered with) and also actual work so bear that in mind too.
