LSE Language, Culture and Society - 2024 Reputation/Updates?

Hi All,

I’ve applied for BSc Language, Culture, and Society at the LSE for September 2025 and I'm currently evaluating my university choices as offers start to roll in. I’m particularly interested in the Russian track but have struggled to find recent reviews or updated insights from current students. The course seems to be relatively small (< 20 students across all language tracks I believe, I may be wrong), which I imagine could make for a close-knit and focussed learning environment. However, I’d love to hear more about the teaching methods, the electives (literature and political history in particular), and how the language learning experience compares to similar degrees at UCL and Oxford.

If you have any first-hand knowledge, recent experience, or advice about this course - especially the Russian language track at LSE - please do share. Your insights would be invaluable!

Thanks in advance 😊

@artful_lounger has studied at SOAS and is currently studying languages at UCL, so he might offer some insight perhaps? 😉
