Hi. Has anyone whatsoever heard back for history and political economy at kings? I applied with AAB, lower grades then required, and am stressing slightly as ucas says I have a 35% chance. Anyone know anything or gotten an offer?

any word yet as i have similar predicteds to apply next year and want to know if it’s worth it

Hey, I’m a recent KCL graduate in HPE. I think with AAB you may be fine. I believe requirements are AAA so you’re one grade short but I think should be fine. Ultimately depends on a few things, mainly how competitive applications are and then your PS. Generally what all uni’s do as well is they hand out more offers than places as they expect people to reject them or miss grades and be rejected and so with AAB I think you will be fine. On results day if you come out with those grades too I think you’ll get an offer.

For context for myself, I applied in 2019 for 2020 start. I was part of the first cohort to study the HPE degree. I applied with AAA, got an offer. I was part of the covid cohort however and so there were U-turns, oversubscribed places and heavy competition with uni’s being extra strict. I came out with A*AB, was rejected at first then given an offer. I’d assume given that there is no initial over subscription like in 2020, or hangover in 2021, places and intake are normal again and so AAB would be enough to get in.

Hey mate, most likely going to do this course, how’s everything been after graduating, regarding job roles.

Hey mate, most likely going to do this course, how’s everything been after graduating, regarding job roles.

Market is rough right now for everyone, regardless of uni, degree etc. It’s going to take quite a few applications (100s) to get something, even with experience. For me personally, I’ve done an internship in IB, then after grad worked a year in investment management and I now work in policy with a grad scheme lined up for this September too at the FCA. So bar a few months out I’ve had some good experience and employment in competitive fields. Hopefully by the time you graduate the economy and jobs market improves so it would be less of a worry. In terms of career prospects and direction, you can go anywhere. I've worked in finance as I mentioned above and now policy but also a lot of people from HPE go into other finance like PE, IB, energy, government etc so there are very good prospects. From when you start keep focused on internships and experience and get some as it will go a long way

What are your stats, I applied to HPE in mid-december with ABB achieved with history, French and maths. im retaking this year so A* predicted in maths and doing econ for the first time with A predicted. So overall predicted A* A with an A already achieved in history. My GCSE's were also ok with 8s to 6s mostly 7 and 8s and a few 6s. But haven't heard anything from kings. On the portal it says offer received and being considered, does it say that for you guys.
