Polish A-Level Resources

Hi guys,
Does anyone know of any websites that i could use to find my research on Poland in the communism era.
I have chose the film Katyn, the book popiol i diament and Poland in the communism era for my research task.

Heyy in terms of the book i’m doing „Tango” by Sławomir Mrożek so i can’t rlly tell u specific pointers for your book but what i suggest doing is familiarising yourself with the plot of your book and perhaps create mind maps for each of the characters and themes (adding key quotes for each) that the essay question could be on, this technique would be pretty similar to gcse english literature. Also ensure you’ve got a solid foundation of high level vocab that you can include in your essays and maybe if your book has a historical background you could research that as well (AO3) for instance some high level vocabulary i would include in my essays would be „awangardyzm” „entropia” „anarchia”etc.

It’s a rlly good guide which helps you build on the key ideas about the movie. Also make sure you’ve watched the movie at least 3 times - you should be able to explain the plot easily from memory. For Katyń it’s a movie pretty centered about history so i’d recommend revising things about history as well but the book in the link covers all that so it should be pretty useful.
In order to get the highest marks for the research project you have to cover all the bullet points of your chosen topic.
So in your case for communism you need to include (1) impact on everyday life (2) influence of the catholic church
(3) Solidarity movement. The way you answer the question is that you use the source to comment on these bullet points but also intertwine your own research that you may have researched or memorised beforehand. Maybe a good idea would be to do one paragraph per bullet point and add in an intro and conclusion as well. In your intro you can talk about roughly what communism is and give a little background info about how it was relevant in poland etc.
