I think this could be cool?
•
Use a low-cost infrared sensor (e.g., MLX90614) connected to a microcontroller to measure temperature at different points on a surface.
•
Write code to create a heat map of the surface, displaying the temperature distribution visually on a computer.
•
Test materials with different thermal properties (e.g., metal vs. plastic) and write about the physics of heat transfer.
•
You can make like cool images so it’s fun.
•
But it does cost a bit: ~£15-£20 for the sensor, you might be able to get your school to fund you?
